REVIEW : Circus Ponies Notebook
Posted by Ross Chevalier in Applications, Macintosh, tags: Circus Ponies NotebookI admit to being a bit of a pim geek going back for decades. There are a number of really good note taking applications for the Mac, and I wanted to share this review of my favourite. It comes from a great company called Circus Ponies and is called Notebook.
Notebook offers the usual simplicity of providing a nice UI, in this case a spiral bound notebook. In addition to the traditional page, Notebook provides the Cornell Note Taking page, a tremendous way to take notes and then go back and prioritize and highlight what you noted. Notebook has a full outliner built in of course, but adds neat functions like Sticky Notes and Stick On Flags.
It’s easy to add content from existing files, as well as rich media such as camera snapshots, pictures and voice annotations. All note pages you create are automatically indexed, and the app builds a table of contents for you automatically.
Circus Ponies recently updated the code to version three and the update is well worth it. The new version even lets you sync a notebook page to your iPod! Pages can be published to the web and hyperlinks you put in your notes are live.
Notebook is a wonderful application and is highly recommended. For more information go to Circus Ponies
