With over 25 years of experience across Canada, UK & South Africa within the recruitment and finance functions, Dilesh is the Principal of The Human Touch Inc., a Search Practice with an operational focus on leadership assignments. He is noted for partnering with businesses who are embarking on change.
Having forged a strong track record in delivering top quality candidates in both permanent and interim solutions, his clients range from start-ups to SMEs, to larger organizations (owner managed and PE-backed), across all sectors within commerce and industry.
Dilesh’s passion is driven by the belief that a more down to earth, collaborative approach can have a huge impact on the culture and performance of an organisation. Approach and Search methodology:

  • Analyze the challenges unique to the organization and the role and determine the client priorities that will shape the search process
  • Determine the skills, knowledge and abilities required, offering insight and fresh perspectives on how clients can think about their needs; when appropriate, challenge client assumptions and present alternative ideas for how to conceive a role
  • Develop a customized position and candidate specification, detailing the company, the role, responsibilities, goals and key challenges of the position as well as the experience, qualifications and competencies required for success

• Co-ordinate and facilitate interviews (onsite or virtual, to be determined depending on COVID-19 protocols)
• open feedback discussions post-interviews are held with each interviewed candidate and client
• Perform in-depth executive capabilities assessment leveraging external personality assessment(if needed) in high-stakes finalist selection situations

  • Conduct targeted research into companies and sectors to find those with relevant skill-sets and qualifications, supplementing extensive knowledge of and relationships with senior executives across industries and functions
  • Develop a long list of prospects best qualified for the role, with the goal of providing real options for clients to consider
  • Talk with third-party contacts to identify and qualify prospects
  • Approach passive candidates to test their interest in the role, drawing on our insights about candidate interests and aspirations to persuade strong prospects to consider new opportunities
  • Conduct rigorous recruiter interviews with candidates based on the proven skills, knowledge, abilities and aptitudes outlined in the position specification
  • Weekly search progress update calls and reports are provided to ensure client alignment
  • Develop a short list of candidates and present the most qualified based on a written analysis against the specification

  • Verify each candidate’s academic qualifications
  • After the client has selected its preferred candidate, conduct thorough background checks and referencing to further assess competencies
  • Assist in negotiations over compensation and other terms to help finalize the search
  • Communicate regularly with client and placement during transition
  • Conduct client satisfaction survey to improve service and refine approach
  • Periodically follow up with client and candidate once search is closed, checking in on the placement’s fit with the organization and the progress of the transition
